The Mother's Day Lunch in Sydney: Families Keep Coming Back For
Some restaurants do a Mother’s Day set menu and call it a day. At Teta’s, it’s done differently. For a memorable Mother’s Day lunch in Sydney, the dishes that have made Teta’s a Sunday institution on the North Shore take centre stage — generous mezze, charcoal-grilled skewers, and house-made dips — with Mum welcomed by a glass of wine before she even sits down.
Teta's Authentic Lebanese in Roseville Chase has been one of the most favoured restaurants since 2015. The name itself means grandmother in Arabic. The grand idea behind this place to be built is gathering - big tables, shared plates, and the kind of warm noise that only happens when a family is actually enjoying itself. That's the environment Mum is walking into this Mother's Day.

What's Included in Your Mother's Day Celebration
From the moment your family arrives at our Mother's Day restaurant in Roseville Chase, the occasion is treated as exactly that — an occasion. Mum receives a complimentary glass of wine on arrival. Not at some point during the meal. On arrival.
The rest follows from there. Plates are put towards the centre of the table, bread lands hot out of the kitchen, and the conversation does what it always does when Lebanese food is involved - it slows down, no one wants to leave the table.
And for those joining us in the evening, we bring out live belly dancing. It's one of those things that sounds like a nice touch until you're actually in the room for it. Tables that have never experienced it before tend to become regulars after that first night.
Two Ways to Dine — You Choose
At Teta, you are not stuck to any particular format. We have two variants to make the experience work with your family, just a perfect Mother’s Day lunch in Sydney.
À la Carte: Order freely from our full menu. Mum picks what she loves, the table orders around her, and nothing is rushed or predetermined. This is the option for families who want full flexibility on the day.
Unlimited Lebanese Banquet: This is the full Teta's experience. Dish after dish comes to the table - mezze, mains, dips, fresh bread - and it keeps coming until everyone is genuinely done. If you've ever been invited to a Lebanese family's home for Sunday lunch, this is the closest a restaurant can get to that.
For groups of eight adults or more, the banquet is the way we do things. It's designed for tables that want to share properly, and it's the format that works best when the whole family is together.

The Special Mother's Day Menu in Sydney Mums Will Actually Talk About
The food at Teta's has always been built on recipes that were passed down — from grandmothers to kitchens to our current head chef, who has been part of Teta's for years. Owner Harry, who grew up in Lebanon and Syria before moving to Australia, and his partner Kayla have kept those same recipes at the core of everything we serve. What's on the table for Mother's Day reflects that.
Kibbeh Nayyeh
This is what we do best at our cuisine, and it's not the standard version you'll find elsewhere. We have made it the authentic way, full of delicious flavour, and served with love, actually the way it's meant to be; as something worth slowing down for. If your family hasn't tried it before, Mother's Day is the right occasion.
Crispy Falafel with Fresh Lebanese Bread
We are ever ready with this, the in-house dish. No shortcuts. Served with bread that's baked fresh in the kitchen, not reheated.
Laham Meshwi — Charcoal Lamb Skewers
Lamb backstrap seasoned with Armenian spices and cooked over charcoal. Each skewer weighs close to 240g. The outside is charred the best way, so the inside stays tender and juicy. These are one of the most consistently mentioned dishes in every review Teta's has ever received; this is obviously a good reason.
House-Made Dips
Hummus, baba ghanouj, and labneh are some of the items made from scratch in our kitchen, usually served with fresh bread. The hummus alone has had people coming back to Teta's for years.
Everything arrives at the centre of the table to be shared. That's how Lebanese food works, and it's why it suits a family celebration better than most restaurant formats do.

The Dining Room — Built for Celebrations Like This
As you walk into Teta the first time, there are a number of things that immediately draw your attention. The bricks of sandstone roughness. The details of the cast-iron terrace. The thick vines that crawl along the ceiling towards a fully-equipped bar. It is cozy and natural and close in a manner that does not seem obtrusive — because it does not.
The design was made to resemble a meeting room, rather than a dining room. Both two-table and twelve-table feel at home here. The layout and the level of noise are in your favour, should you be organising a multi-generational family lunch, with grandparents, parents and kids. It is the type of room where no one feels the need to keep their voice low.
For families looking for a Mother's Day dinner on the North Shore of Sydney that actually has atmosphere — not just a nice tablecloth — this is it.
