Is Summer 2026 the time to try new things? Of course! Trying new things and having new, different experiences is what life is all about. The tastiest way to be more adventurous this year is by trying new foods. And why not start with the delicious, authentic Lebanese meals at Teta’s in Sydney?

Let’s take a look at some of Teta’s best Lebanese foods or meals that should be on your to-eat list, starting with two of our exclusive summer specials.

  1. Teta’s Summer Special: Samak Meshwi Ma Tarator

If you visit Teta’s right away, you will get to sample Samak Meshwi ma tartar at our special price. Yes, this mouthwatering treat is currently part of our summer special menu, along with other delicious treats like an arak sour drink and a delicious fried ice cream treat.

This one dish will convince you that our Middle Eastern chefs know exactly what they’re doing.

The dish includes a fresh snapper fish grilled on charcoal. This whole fish is marinated in herbs and spices and grilled to perfection before it is served with a tangy tahini sauce.

  1. Teta’s Summer Special: Halva Ice-Cream

Halva Ice-cream is one of the best sweet treats to include on your list of desserts to go and taste in 2026. The dish is crafted from tahini ice cream – a nutty ice cream made from sesame paste – wrapped in a crisp baked noodle-like pastry and fried. After baking, it is lightly soaked in a special homemade syrup and topped with caramelised pistachios. This sweet treat might just be the most unique and flavour-rich dessert in the city.

  1. Arnabit

Arnabit is the type of meal you won’t come across in any other restaurants in Sydney. The meal is created by frying, cooking, and baking tender cauliflower so you can compare the difference in preparation methods. It is also topped with a lemon and a tahini sauce created right here by our own in-house culinary team. Some pomegranate seeds are added on top for extra flavour and charm before it is served.

  1. Kibbeh

Kibbeh is another good dish to consider if you are looking to try something completely different. The dish is extremely popular in the Middle East, yet few here in Sydney know about it. Kibbeh is made from a mixture of wheat, onions, ground meat, and warm spices. The mix of ingredients is made into a form before it is fried or baked. Kibbeh usually has a crunchy shell with a rich filling that consists of meat, onions, and pine nuts.

  1. Batengen (Available on our Takeaway Menu)

Batengan is also a good dish to sample if you want a unique experience when visiting Teta’s. Batengan is made from spiced eggplant, topped with yoghurt, pine nuts, paprika, and fried onions. The in-house chefs always take a lot of care when preparing this unique dish because it can be a little complicated to prepare.

  1. Knafeh

Knafeh is another good traditional Middle Eastern dessert to come and taste. The dessert is oven-baked and features a layer of sweet cheese semolina, a golden crust, and a drizzle of sugar syrup on top. The dessert has a crunchy exterior and a deliciously smooth cheesy centre.
